Based solely on the quality of material that Jared Evan has been releasing over the past few months, it’s definitely been a year to remember for the New York singer/rapper already. Just yesterday we were gifted with the nostalgic video for “Are We Almost There Yet?,” but there’s no stopping the constant momentum that’s currently in place. Although the track was positioned as a bonus cut on his recent Boom Bap & Blues album, the option to stream “Bad News” is now available for your listening pleasure. Once again the song is produced by Statik Selektah, who also put together the original 10 tracks on the project.
DJ-producer, Statik Selektah is returning to the solo scene after a year layoff with his upcoming album “Extended Play.” Here, we get the project’s first official single featuring the Raekwon, Joey Bada$$ and Black Thought assisted “Birds Eve View.” With three lyrical assassins such as these, it’s like a 2013 dosage of verbal intercourse and what we should expect when the new project hits the streets.
You can look out for Statik Selektah’s Extended Play album to release on June 8th via Duck Down records, with features from the likes of Bun B, Styles P, Talib Kweli, Hit-Boy, Action Bronson, Sean Price, Mac Miller and Freddie Gibbs to name a few.
Another movie was made on the radio tonight, as we get a taste of Funkmaster Flex’s upcoming Who You Mad At? Me Or Yourself? mixtape, coming live and direct from Queens. Action Bronson’s “Live From Kissena Blvd” has that signature New York feel and is full of quotables, all over the production backdrop of the Showoff, Statik Selektah.
If you checked out the tracklist for the tape, we can assure you it’s massive. With more bangers like these on deck, it will be a project to keep an eye on.
New York singer Jared Evan returns with his second single of the week as the date edges closer towards his forthcoming project. This time he is joined by M.O.P.’s Lil Fame for his latest offering titled “Uma Thurman,” which gives us a completely different perspective on the topic of conversation. Once again the production is taken care of by the timeless sound of Statik Selektah, with their Boom Bap & Blues full-length dropping on February 26th.
Jared Evan is back to his musical strengths with what claims to be just “a small taste of what’s to come.” The singer/rapper’s latest single “Are We Almost There Yet?” is an example of his latest direction, and with production from Statik Selektah, you should already know what to expect. The offering gives us a great portrayal of Jared’s neo-soul approach by supporting what his brand new content will sound like. Be sure to look out out for his forthcoming project Boom Bap & Blues, which will be available on February 26th.

The waviest one, Max B, uses some of his phone time and calls up Statik Selektah on Showoff Radio (Shade 45) to speak on a few things and check in while he’s in the box. He was asked what artists he’s been listening to and he revealed he gets Power 99 in Philly, so everything that they play he’s a fan of. Especially hearing French Montana on the radio.
One thing he did stress, is to sign the petition on Pardon The Wave, and help the cause because he feels he got an unfair trial. So if you’re out in the streets screaming “Free Max B,” make sure you show support and help Max.
