Putting in the work
As far as big men in this year’s draft, most scout experts have proclaimed Karl-Anthony Towns as the number one pick and Jahlil Okafor as the consolation prize for whatever team decides to draft him. Willie Cauley-Stein has not been in the conversation among the Top 5 picks, but he’s still looking at a high lottery selection. Maybe even Top 10.
The Player’s Tribune has been following the Kentucky center in the midst of his big draft night, to get a better of feel of where he’s at going into the next phase of his career.
In the clips shown here, you will see Willie work out and say why he’s putting his body through punishment, working every day to get better and impress any team who is willing to pick him. He says with hard work and dedication, there’s no doubt he can become the rookie of the year next season.
