Russell Wilson Opens Up on Why He Hasn’t Received A New Contract from Seattle Seahawks

Watch Russell Wilson’s ESPN interview

After helping lead the Seattle Seahawks to the Super Bowl last year (alongside the legion of boom, of course), Russell Wilson is looking for his big pay day next winter. Seattle is yet to give him an upgrade on salary this summer, which he’s set to make just over a million this fall.

Before Jay Cutler received his $127 million extension with the Chicago Bears on the brink of last season, Wilson’s contract remained an non-issue, until his team made a consecutive trip to the Super Bowl. At the present, Wilson wants to be the highest paid athlete in the NFL and has finally moved on from Pete Carroll and his blown interception play during last February’s game-losing drive against the champion New England Patriots. Watch more from the conversation, where the under-paid athlete is looking to play his best season to date this fall.
