Ronda Rousey Sets New UFC Record for Fastest Title Fight Submission Ever

UFC 184: Rousey v Zingano

Is anyone or anything stopping Ronda from remaining undefeated?

If you paid $60 bucks for UFC 184, we feel really sad for you. Saturday night, Ultimate Fighting Championship held their premier bout with undefeated women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and her previous no. one challenger Cat Zingano. Those in attendance at the Staples Center were hoping for Rosuey’s toughest outing yet.

In recent weeks, she even cited Zingano as not another ordinary day in the octagon, but fans were unfortunately proven wrong once again. In just 14-seconds, Rousey avoided a strong opening charge from Zingano to flip over a reverse take-down and make her tap for the fastest submission ever in a UFC title fight. She now surpasses her 16-second finish of Alexis Davis last July and ties the fastest finish ever for a UFC fight all time.

The 28-year-old now improves to 11-0, giving Zingano her first ever loss in the ring. All eyes are now pointing to Invicta FC World Featherweight Champion Cris “Cyborg” Santos, who has been on a campaign to get Ronda in the ring. If Rousey decides to take another fight and win in convincing fashion like tonight, the Queen of UFC will be pressured by fans, media and hopefully President Dana White to give us the fight we’re all waiting for.
