Rodger Goodell To Change New NFL Conduct Policy Before Super Bowl

“The same mistakes can never be repeated.”

Friday, NFL commissioner Rodger Goodell addressed members of the media in light of the backlash he has received because of new allegations of domestic violence surrounding Adrian Peterson and Jonathan Dwyer. He apologized again for the handling of the Ray Rice situation, putting the blame on himself, and said that there have been too many examples of the league doing wrong the past few weeks.

Goodell stated to the media during the press conference that the league would “get our house in order” and that he would try his hardest to gain the trust of fans and players back. He also said that the league would be implementing their new personal conduct policy before this year’s Super Bowl. The new policy will have specific punishment for child abuse and sexual assault.

He has severely disappointed fans, sponsors, and NFL players, but vows to correct any wrong doing that has occurred, but in terms of him resigning, he hasn’t thought about that for one minute until everything is fixed.

“Domestic violence, including child abuse, sexual assault, irresponsible ownership or handling of firearms, the illegal use of alcohol or drugs — these activities must be condemned and stopped through education and discipline. We will do whatever it is necessary to ensure we are thorough in our review process and our conclusions are reliable. We will get our house in order first.”
