The Chicago Bears waste no time in releasing Ray McDonald
Tom Brady and Roger Goodell may be dominated the headlines this off-season with DeflateGate – but players still have nothing to do while waiting for the pre-season to begin in August, as Ray Lewis would say. Earlier today, defensive-lineman Ray McDonald was arrested on domestic violence and child endangerment charges. According to Santa Clara police, McDonald allegedly assaulted the victim, while she was holding a baby.
This marks the second consecutive year Ray has been arrested, following his domestic violence disturbance last August – which soon led to his release by the San Francisco 49ers last December. Just a few weeks ago, the Bears had signed him a non-guaranteed one-year, $1.05 million contract – giving him at least one more shot at continuing his career. Now approaching the age of 31 in a few months, we’re not certain if any franchise will take a gamble on him, following consecutive violations for the league’s top PR issue at the moment.
