New York Mets Attempt to Trade SS Wilmer Flores on Live TV & He Cries

Carlos Gomez is coming home but Wilmer Flores is out!

Even with reports surfacing that Jenrry Mejia tested positive for PEDs (again) during his recent suspension, the New York Mets face more negative PR today with one of the more heartbreaking moments we’ve seen this year in sports. As the team continues to make a push for at least a Wild Card spot in the post-season, they’ve traded away their starting short-stop Wilmer Flores, to the Milwaukee Brewers for Carlos Gomez and Andy Martino.

Flores was informed Wednesday night in their home loss to the San Diego Padres and he couldn’t hold back his emotions any longer. Wilmer continued to play through the inning, and actually cried on the field – prompting the crowd to give him a standing ovation during the game. Take a look at the emotional clip above.
