Trouty is the youngest player to collect 100 home runs and 100 stolen bases.

Mike Trout is without a doubt one the most elite players in all of baseball. That’s why what he did during Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim‘s Friday night win over the Houston Astros comes as no surprise to many.

The three-time All-Star joined the 100 HR club last night, after he belted two home runs in the series opener against the Astros. One a two-run shot off Roberto Hernandez in the sixth inning, the other, a three-run bomb off Chad Qualls in the eighth inning — both came with two strikes.

With those two home runs, Trout became the youngest player ever to collect 100 home runs and 100 stolen bases. Surpassing Alex Rodriguez, who accomplished the same feat back in 1999 at the tender age of 23 years and 309 days old, while Trout did so at 23 years and 253 days old.

His 100th home run came with the scored tied at 1 and blasted Hernandez’s 3-2 sinker over Minute Maid Park’s left field fence. Trout’s 101st came with the scored tied at 3 and he ripped Qualls’ 0-2 sinker out to right-center field.

On the night, Trout went 2-4 with 5 RBI’s, a strikeout and scored twice in the 6-3 win.
