Last Saturday, Canelo Alvarez defeated Miguel Cotto in domination fashion, to capture the Lineal, The Ring and vacant WBC Middleweight titles. JAY Z, who manages Cotto through Roc Nation Sports, challenged Oscar De La Hoya to a cool $100K bet that he would beat the Golden Boy Promotions fighter Canelo Alvarez during their bout last weekend. That wasn’t the case, as a disappointed HOV and his Queen stood ringside awaiting for the night’s festivities to end.
De La Hoya has revealed that the Brooklyn-bred mogul has already forked over the cash, which is now being used to help patients at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles, as those people in need are the real winners. While we doubt Jigga is ever up for losing, we’re sure this is something he can rest easy at night, knowing he’s helping some people in need.
