Does Austin Rivers finally get playing Time?!?!?

With Anthony Davis having an MVP-like season, the New Orleans Pelicans have been developing some serious chemistry with their starting core of newly arrived center Omer Asik, Jrue Holiday June (inside joke with NBA 2K community), Tyreke Evans and Eric Gordon. Speaking of which, during a game over the weekend against the Utah Jazz, Gordon would suffer a blow to his left shoulder and immediately fell to the floor wincing in pain.

After being helped off the floor by team trainers and support from his teammates, an MRI would soon reveal he would have to sit for an unspecified amount of time for the left shoulder subluxation injury. Following his whopping four year-$58 million dollar contract, Gordon’s missed 115 games in his three years with New Orleans and will unfortunately hinder them once again from making a serious push deep into the playoffs.

Former Duke standout sharp shooter Austin Rivers will see his role significantly increase and will hopefully provide with some much needed deep shooting in his bonus time now Eric will be out of action – again. At the present, there’s no word whether Gordon will undergo surgery to possibly miss the entire season, but further tests are on the horizon the Pelicans training staff and doctors.
