Just when you thought the Donald Sterling and NBA’s controversial public battle was coming to an end, NBC News has learned the former Los Angeles Clippers owner is set to sue the NBA.

Following last night’s official sale to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer for $2 Billion, Sterling waited no longer than 24 hours to reveal plans to officially sue the NBA for $1 Billion, following his forced relinquishment of ownership for the team last night.

His wife Shelly Sterling became sole trustee owner of the Family Trust, after declaring Donald mentally incapacitated of handling the situation properly. His attorney’s would soon deny claims, as Mr. Sterling would have a variety on tests conducted from neurologists recently, with results pending.

The league originally intended to have an owner’s vote on June 3rd to have him removed ownership, but Sterling has one-upped Adam Silver’s original $2.5 million dollar penalty and lifetime ban late last month. Look for immediate details to emerge on the NBA’s next move for the on-going public battle taking away from their biggest week of the year.
