For the past few years, DeMarre Carroll has been a fan favorite in Atlanta. The forward broke out on the scene even more this past season, becoming one of the main reasons why the Hawks led the Eastern Conference for the year, until the team was knocked out of the playoffs by LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

While most thought there was a chance he would leave the Hawks to cash out, that notion has become a reality at the start of free agency, because he has agreed on a deal with the Toronto Raptors that’s reportedly worth $60 million over 5 years.

Atlanta has quickly countered his departure and snatched up Tiago Splitter from the San Antonio Spurs, who are looking to offload contracts and make cap room for LaMarcus Aldridge.

Carroll is bringing his defensive to #WeTheNorth, as well as 60% shooting from the field that he averaged last season, as Toronto looks to make it further in the playoffs next season. He also averaged 12 points and 5 rebounds last season as a Hawk.
