Indiana looks to rebuild with exit of front line star

The biggest winners of NBA Free Agency by far have been the San Antonio Spurs, who’ve upgraded their front court over the weekend with the blockbuster acquisition of superstar LaMarcus Aldridge.

Today, the team adds yet another quality piece to their front court with the announcing of landing free agent power forward David West. The 34-year-old veteran was set to make $12 million with the Indiana Pacers for the upcoming 2016 season, but opted out of his deal for only $1.4 million to have a legitimate shot at winning an NBA title with the Spurs dynasty. This announcement follows veteran wing-man Manu Ginobili confirming he would return to the team alongside Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Gregg Popovich today.

Surprisingly, the Spurs still have five more roster spots to fill to complete their bench and this signing should convince another well-paid veteran to sneak down to the river walk and join the league’s best franchise.
