Dallas Cowboys to Franchise Dez Bryant & Let DeMarco Murray Test Free Agency

DeMarco Murray, Dez Bryant

Jerry Jones outlines Cowboys off-season to start March

We guess setting single-season records for team rushing and receiving yards in the same year doesn’t matter to Jerry Jones. Dallas Cowboys VP Stephen Jones has revealed the team will franchise tag superstar receiver Dez Bryant. At the age of 26, Bryant is fresh from a career year of 16-touchdowns, 1,320 yards and was looking to receive a long-term maximum deal this spring. The team would soon inform their all-pro wide out of placing the tag on Bryant to guarantee him $13 million for the 2015 season – more than his last five seasons combined.

In related news, the team will now allow 27-year-old running back DeMarco Murray to test free agency. In his four years with the team, Murray was also severely underpaid at just $3 million and will also have a chance to see what suitors are willing to give him a max-deal, following his 1,845 yard season. We expect the Indianapolis Colts to be one of the standout teams in pursuit of Murray, who will have a chance to talk with him starting Saturday, March 7th and the possibility of inking him to a contract on March 10th – when players can sign.
