The hope is dying in Dallas

Looks like the Dallas Mavericks shots at a title run are all but dwindling, after their latest injuries. Rajon Rondo, who is presumably never to set foot on a court with a Mavs jersey again, will be out for the rest of the season due to a back injury. As for Chandler Parsons, he will be missing the rest of the season with a knee injury, which he is exploring surgical options for.

Parsons missed the last six regular season games for Dallas as well as Game 2 of the Houston Rockets first round series.

If Rondo never plays a game for the Mavericks again, it was a big risk with no reward for Mark Cuban and company, who gave up Brandan Wright and a future first round pick for him. Ever since Rondo arrived to Dallas, the team played worse with him on the court and the squad could never really gain the chemistry on the court they would have hoped for.
