Details of the Cavaliers, Timberwolves & 76ers 3-Team Trade

King James is best GM in the league.

As of Saturday at 12:01am EST time, it is to be assumed that this Kevin Love to the Cavaliers trade is going down. As it was first reported, it would only involve the Minnesota Timberwolves and Cleveland Cavs, but now it seems like the Philadelphia 76ers have their hand in the pot and are being used as the third team in the trade, which will see Thaddeus Young switch jerseys as well.

There was knowledge of the second trade that would send Young to the Tims and it seemed like Anthony Bennett would be a key piece in that trade, but now it is being reported that he will likely stay in Minnesotta, and they would dump the contracts of Alexey Shved and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, plus the Miami Heat first round pick.

Off first glance, what the hell are the 76ers thinking? They’ve taken the word “tanking” to a completely different level. Secondly, LeBron has successfully got his way —yet again— and brought Kevin Love (as well as Shawn Marion and Ray Allen?) to the Cavs, but does this make them the undisputed Easter Conference champions?

Minnesota seems to be the grand winners of this deal, locking down solid pieces for years to come, especially with Ricky Rubio and Zach LaVine on deck, but in the tough Western Conference, it might be a few years before they can be a legit playoff team.

UPDATE: The deal is now official.
