Baltimore Ravens Cut Wide Receiver Jacoby Jones

Free agency sees another high-profile wide-out this spring

Two years ago, Jacoby Jones had arguably the most important play of the Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl XLVII run, completing the infamous 70-yard touchdown catch against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. Fresh from his career year with the Houston Texans, he soon made an impact with the team alongside Joe Flacco.

Last March, Jacoby received more hefty contracts offers than Baltimore, but opted to remain loyal to the franchise accepting way less for four-years and $12 million. Ironically, after seeing his stats dwindle to one of his worst productive years ever, the team made the very tough decision of parting ways with him.

Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh felt Jones couldn’t remain on the team below the 3rd option and only allowed him a grand total of 9 targeted passes last season (five passes dropped, two muffed punts). Jacoby now hits the free agency market, which we’re expecting the Green Bay Packers, Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots and other elite teams to all give the 30-year-old veteran another shot at productivity.
