The group clears the air

News of the release of Wu-Tang Clan‘s Once Upon A Time In Shaolin album have been a little confusing up to now, but do know for certain that RZA wanted to make this music a work of art. He wanted to sell one copy of the album to the highest bidder at auction, so they could do whatever they wanted with the single piece.

As far as making the music available to the core Wu fan or rap consumer is a different story.

Apparently, Method Man wasn’t with the whole “the owner who buys the album can’t put the music for sale after 88 years” idea, which is why “the group” has decided to put out an official statement about it to clear the air. They explain the album can be exhibited for the public to see and it can be released for free, but it cannot be reproduce for profit until 2103.

Potentially, it can be a while until we hear the record, if ever.
