Talib Kweli Announces New Date For “Prisoner of Conscious” & Talks Black Star

Rolling Stone recently caught up with Brooklyn emcee, Talib Kweli announced the long awaited set in stone date for the release of his sixth studio album “Prisoner of Conscious” coming April 23rd. He went on to say the album is to redefine the “socially conscious rapper” label he’s had pinned to his career since the 90s’. With the album being in the works for nearly four years, we can expect to see features from Kendrick Lamar, Nelly, Busta Rhymes and more to be announced when the album’s release date nears.

With the 15-year anniversary of “Mos Def & Talib Kweli are Black Star” nearing, Kweli briefly touched on a sophomore Black Star album which he and Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def) are currently focused on their solo careers citing scheduling and timing differences that the two have been victim of all these years.

We’re hopeful to see a second Black Star album but for now we can look out for Kweli’s new album this March while Yasiin is still having a successful acting career currently.
