A spoken word poem by Clifford Harris
With all that’s going on in the world today, especially in our country, something has touched T.I. enough to write a poem about society’s issues. The poem titled “United We Stand” was performed in spoken word at the 2015 Triumph Awards, which will air tonight on TV One, and speaks on the lives of Freddie Gray, Sandra Bland, Eric Garner, Tamir Rice, and Eric Harris. It also takes aim at those who only take to social media to speak on the problems, but do nothing else to help change the injustices in the community. It’s one thing to send out a hashtag on Twitter and act like you support a movement, it’s another to take action and try to change things.
