Recently being linked the careers of Waka Flocka Flame and Compton Menace, former CEO of Death Row Records and legendary hip-hop mogul Suge Knight sat down with BET Networks to clear up some confusion. Two decades ago with help from Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and the late 2pac Shakur among others, Suge pioneered mainstream crossover street music.

In a recent appearance on The Arsenio Hall late night show, Suge made some eye raising comments that were taken wrong initially pertaining to how he felt the way Kendrick Lamar and The Game were being treated at their majors. He went to compare the emcees deals to previous times in rap, where rappers could make their money from touring citing Prince’s survival from shows around the world. The conversation would continue to his praising of fellow Compton native YG, saying he’s in a class among himself with fellow newcomers in LA.

Continue after the jump for more on the interview with Suge praising the new breed of Los Angeles rappers, which he and Death Row Records set the blueprint for.
