Rising UK singer-songwriter, Sam Smith was the next musical guest to perform for NBC’s Saturday Night Live. Not to be overshadowed by one of the most hilarious opening stand-up monologues this year with Louis C.K. as well as various sketches, Sam was nearly the highlight of the spectacular night at 30 Rock. During his visit, he performed the lead-single “Lay Me Down” from his upcoming debut studio album In the Lonely Hour; along with the latest single “Stay With Me”, that received an official music visual on Friday.
The live audience was more than receptive for the 21-year-old’s first gig at SNL, which we’re assuming the casual were acquainted with him from the Disclosure’s 2012 single “Latch.”
