R&Beef doesn’t pop up hardly as often as that in the rap community, but nobody is safe. Miguel isn’t quite trying to pick a fight with Frank Ocean in his interview with The Sunday Times, but he definitely made a statement that is said in confidence and boldly states his opinion. When compared to Frank (the interview started out categorizing the two and The Weeknd as a new alternative sound in R&B today), Miguel had this to say:
“I wouldn’t say we were friends. To be completely honest — and no disrespect to anyone — I genuinely believe that I make better music, all the way around.”
Obviously it wasn’t said in a malicious manner, but it just goes to show how much he believes in his new album Wildheart and in his talent. It’s obviously Ocean’s move to put up or shut up when it comes to the music, whenever his album comes out.
