As if $8 million dollars wasn’t enough, Lil Wayne has now filed a lawsuit against his father Birdman and current label Cash Money Records and the claims keep balooning.
As we first heard, Weezy said he was owed an $8 million advance for recording Tha Carter V, but now details have surfaced that he was to receive $2 million upon completion. He hasn’t seen any of that money yet. According to the lawsuit, he wants to end the contract with Cash Money and take Young Money with him, which includes artists Drake and Nicki Minaj.
It seems like C5 might only be released if Baby actually pays Dwayne Carter, but it’s in the judges hands on whether Birdman is responsible for the money owed to him and/or if he has copyright co-ownership of all Young Money recordings.
