With each Kid Cudi album we receive we enter a new chapter in the life of Scott Mescudi. The Moon Man’s latest album “Satellite Flight: The Journey To Mother Moon,” was no exception. Originally slated as an EP only to be upgraded to a 10-track album, the project was symbolic of the man that created it and Complex’s Joe La Puma was able to share some insight directly from the man himself regarding the creation of the new project, removing alcohol and all other substances from his life, G.O.O.D. Music, and the huge amount of fan support.

As for Cudi’s new music, it was an easy choice to maintain a sober lifestyle after receiving news from his doctor that he had an enlarged liver. Although, now Kid Cudi has been alcohol-free long enough to reverse the negatives effects rendered on his body, but he admits that the partying days are done after always going over the top, no matter the vice.

After the break, check out what Kid Cudi had to say about his fans and G.O.O.D. Music.

They know I put in work, that I care about them and I wanna help them because in turn they’re helping me. Know what I mean? It’s not like, I put out the music and you bow before me. No. We are all equal. I can’t survive unless you understand me. And I’m not talking about survive financially. I’m talking about, I wrote music to see who felt like me so I didn’t feel alone. All these kids at the shows make me wanna live. On top of my daughter, on top of my mother, my family. They’re a big part of me wanting to stay on this planet. That’s why they show up because they know that. They know I went through hell and I survived in order to inspire so nobody else could fall. If I fail, millions of other kids will fail. I cannot fail. I cannot fail.

Cudder went on to talk about some of the work put in at the tail-end of his G.O.O.D. Music days including being inspired by the work of Hit-Boy and barely showing up on the crew’s projects. Commenting on Yeezus and the feature he provided for Kanye‘s “Guilt Trip,” Cudi detailed having absolutely no clue of being on the actual project until it came out, saying that he felt underused and how he would’ve been happier not appearing on the track.
