Coldplay, with a slightly different twist
These BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge performances have been welcome with open arms at the rate they’re being released the past week because their Even More Music coverage has been dope. So far, artists like Sam Smith, Duke Dumont and FKA Twigs have been seen covering bands and songs from the past, putting their own twist to each melody.
Jacob Banks is the next to perform from the lounge, giving his own rendition of Coldplay’s “Magic” with the help of a band. Considering his vocals and Chris Martin’s are different octaves and styles, this version of the single sounds a little more soulful than the original. He actually took it to church more than the Pop charts with it.
But you should already know how dope Jacob is if you remember how his latest release, “Move With You,” was championed around these parts.
