Atlanta has always been leading the pack as far as movements in Hip-Hop, with some years even dominating the scene completely. With every generation of new artists bubbling and OG’s making a return, it seems like there is an influx during this time period and a few are making noise on the independent tip.
Artists like OG Maco, Raury, ILOVEMAKONNEN are all bubbling in their own respective rights, even with such difference in sound between all of them.
Billboard traveled to Atlanta to visit with all of the artists mentioned, as well as KEY! and Father as well, getting to watch how they create music inside an apartment and hanging out with them as they went about their day. OG Maco took them to the old neighborhood where his friend was murdered, which made him move out of there and Raury showed the cameras a good place to eat in the city.
