After deciding on the “Rookie of the Year” and “Most Improved” rappers of this year, the Al Lindstrom and Complex Magazine roundtable of Charlamgane Tha God, Joe La Puma, Jayson Rodriguez, Combat Jack and Jeff Sledge now take on the topic of 6th man of the year.
First thing’s first, they established the meaning behind the term because this might be the most confusing of them all, saying that this artist has to be someone who is coming off the bench now, but can get to the money and be a starter next year. Someone that can sit at the big boy table and be in contention with rap’s elite. Among the nominees, Young Thug, YG, Migos and Gunplay were discusses, but in a split decision between Migos and Young Thug, only one took the crown.
