We’re not sure who was in the know or not, but some of us here behind-the-scenes were expecting 2 Chainz’ forthcoming FreeBase EP to release last week before Coachella. The ATL rapper took to Instagram Saturday evening to reveal the project would be seeing an official May 5th release date. Aside from slowly creeping back into the limelight once again, he’s been providing singles with “A-Rod,” “Mainstream Ratchet” and being featured on the popular ScHoolboy Q single “What They Want.” While his campaign for B.O.A.T.S III is underway, he’ll be giving fans a proper introduction to his next summer-take over in a few weeks when FreeBase drops.
