Our love and lust for Tinashe continue thanks to DAZED Magazine, who have made the singer the cover of their winter issue. In the cover story, they go to KIIS-FM in Los Angeles to promote her album and new single “Player,” then make it to the Galleria to pick up a few things before she heads back out on tour. Nobody at the mall even spotted her until the end, but she says it’s worth it. She doesn’t want to just be rich, she wants to be successful and she’s certainly on the path.
The two speak a little about the upcoming Joyride, what she does on her free time when she’s not working (eats her dad’s macaroni and watches Kardashians), how her family plays a major role in her life and what it was like meeting Alexander Wang and working with Max Martin.
“I feel like I can inspire people in other ways. I don’t feel the need to be super-conservative in my choices or be a typical ‘role model’. I think I can influence girls to be independent – how to make their own decisions, how to go after their goals and not just sit around waiting to get married to someone who can help build their careers. Take control as a woman: you can create that lifestyle for yourself!”
