The Amazing Spider-Man 3 sees a 2-year delay to 2018.

On the eve of 2014’s Comic-Con International: San Diego, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. lays out a blueprint for three of its top franchises in the coming years. The Amazing Spider-Man 3’s theatrical release has now be pushed back to May 4, 2018 – from its original June 10, 2016 date.

The company’s PlayStation video-game franchise, Uncharted will now take the summer 2016 slot from Peter Parker, for its first film adaption. Mark Wahlberg’s recently been touted as the official Nathan Drake; but now with a date set in the stone, the company could soon be moving onto the likes of Ben Affleck, Matthew Fox or even Christian Bale.

Spider-Man spin-off, The Sinister Six will also be seeing a release on November 11, 2016, confirmed earlier by Columbia Pictures. This comes just days after Disney and Marvel Studios revealed release dates for 5 new future and untitled films though 2019.

With the big May 6, 2016 showdown between Warner Bros.’ Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Marvel’s Captain America 3, many feel Batman’s release could see a slight bump into possibly 2017. Disney and Marvel are taking an aggressive approach leading up to their showcasing at Comic-Con and could be revealing more box office smashers alongside next spring’s release for Avengers: Age of Ultron.
