After taking over the world with his smash hit “Happy,” Pharrell has now reached another milestone. In a huge day for him, he was honored with his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the Category of Recording today. Skateboard P was joined by Ellen DeGeneres, who presented him with the award through a poem, spelling out his name with words that describes him. Councilmen from Los Angeles also had words before Pharrell took the microphone to speak.
P thanked every single teacher that nurtured his creativity growing up in junior high and high school, his fans (because without them, none of his songs would have ever been hits) and all the people that have touched his career and helped him along the way. He also gave a special thanks to Ellen because she was one of the first to play the record, when radio didn’t even play it. December 14, now lives as Pharrell Day in the city of Hollywood.
