“Inbox” App From Google Is Coming Soon

making your email easier to get through

Some of us know how much Gmail can get overwhelming at times. Constant emails at every hour of the day. Promotional and social email tabs that you never look at. But what if there was an easier way to look at just what matters to you? Google might have the answer.

Much like Dropbox released “Mailbox,” the Gmail crew has now developed “Inbox,” an app that’s meant to help your experience and categorize certain emails with information you need right then and there, without even opening them. It also wants to help figure out which emails are important for you by deleting entire tabs and junk mail that has no interest to you by bundling emails in one single line and leaving you to “pin” or “dismiss” whole folders at once. You’ll also be able to snooze emails, set reminders and check emails through Google Now.

So why do you need another app when you already have Gmail? Because if you’re overwhelmed by too many emails, maybe you need this Inbox filter to access only emails you care about on your smartphone. Who likes organizing email while you’re on the go anyway? It would be much easier if Gmail did that for you and left you with what’s most important.

At the moment, Inbox is invite-only, but you can email info@google.com to be put on the waitlist and hope you get your turn at the future of email.
