Who you gonna call in 2016?!?!?!

After celebrating a 30th anniversary last year, Sony Pictures has finally outlined plans for its long-awaited Ghostbusters reboot. With the original cast of Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd unable to come to terms for a third installment of the legendary sci-fi/comedy, Sony has decided to move forward and reboot the series with an entirely new cast. Paul Feig (The Office, Weeds) has been tapped to handle directorial duties, with Katie Dippold (Parks and Recreation) set to screenwrite the upcoming project.

The big news from Sony, however, is the film will be shifting to a rumored all-female cast – and the quadrant ladies have been revealed. Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon have been confirmed to star in the new film. Much like the original project, the newly revealed reboot features many familiar faces from Saturday Night Live, which we can all expect some over-the-top comedy from the four. Filming is set to begin this summer in New York City and is scheduled to hit theaters nationwide on July 22, 2016.
