This isn’t Southpaw, but it’s damn near in the same lane. Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone star in Creed, a story about a young fighter who tracks down one of his father’s old opponents. Adonis Johnson (Jordan) is the son of a famous world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed. After hitting Philadelphia to meet with Rocky (Stallone), he asks him to be his trainer. After a little resistance, Rocky accepts the challenge and begins showing him the ropes, but only time will tell whether Adonis achieves the success his father once did.
The Ryan Coogler-directed film is set to hit theaters this fall.
