Video Game NPD Sales for March 2014

The video game industry is alive and kicking following the recent NPD sales reveal for March 2014. To no surprise, Titanfall was the highest selling video game of the month, with inFAMOUS Second Son in shotgun. Ironically for Microsoft, they fell short of PlayStation 4 in overall console sales, with the release of their biggest game of the year, announced.

Both companies touted their recent success; with Microsoft announced Xbox One has shipped 5 million units, while Sony’s PlayStation is ahead of the completion with 7 million consoles sold. NBA 2K14 and Call of Duty: Ghosts still charted the elite titles for last month, with South Park: The Stick of Truth surprising some landing at a top spot. Overall, the industry has seen a 3% increase from 2013, with hardware sales up 78% in comparison to last year.
