Remember in 2013 when Epic Games unveiled their Unreal Engine 4 demo? While that 3-minute experience blew us away before next-gen consoles arrived, 3D artist and level designer Benoît Dereau has opened eyes with the engine’s latest trailer. Previously known for working on Dishonored, Dereau showcases one of the most jaw-dropping real-time presentations we’ve ever seen in our lives related to video gaming.
With DirectX 12 set to impact with the release of Windows 10 and Xbox One later this year, we’re given a glimpse into some super realistic texture and light effects in the nearly 4-minute experience. While we’re unfortunately 5 years at the minimum from seeing this level of detail or real-time physics on any gaming platform, get an advanced glimpse into the future on possibly what future titles like Grand Theft Auto 7 could potentially resemble.
