5 Things We Need on “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater” Next-Gen

The Tony Hawk game you’ve been waiting for is almost here!

During the late 1990s and early 2000s, Activision had one of the biggest third party releases every year with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. When the series saw its last underwhelming release in 2007 with Proving Ground, Activision shifted its focus to their newest biggest release every year, being the Call of Duty series.

Unfortunately for virtual skaters like ourselves, we were left without some type of extreme sports – with the exception of Skate (five years since last release). The original Electronic Arts skater led to the demise of the Tony Hawk series, but we think the game never evolving with the times was an even bigger issue with consumers.

Last holiday, Tony Hawk publicly stated that he was working hands-on with a new next-generation installment of the franchise with Activision, but has been quiet on anything else regarding the game.

While Tony Hawk 5 is one of the more anticipated unveilings to be showcased this spring or summer at e3, we decided to put together a few features that need to be added to the game if they want any shot at having success in the mainstream again. Continue after this page to find out what needs to be done for its success.
