Mac Miller – Amen (feat. Da$h, Ab-Soul, Vince Staples & RetcH)

Although he has no verse on this, Mac Miller let loose of this new track he produced as Larry Fisherman which was archived in his studio, Sanctuary Of Narnia, since last year. Listen as Da$h, Ab-Soul, Vince Staples and Retch give you that ghetto gospel with the dark production sounds backing them. Nothing can be harder for this weekend, with all four emcees deciding to kill it without a hook on the track.

Can we get an Amen for BARS? AMEN!

Pittsburgh’s own Mac Miller only returned to reveal a cover of Bright Eyes’ “Lua” last week, but like we’ve seen on a number of occasions, he returns without warning for an original recording. With reportedly a number of projects in the stash, there’s no doubt he has plenty of material to be heard, and his latest track “Diablo” showcases more of his combination of beats and rhymes, courtesy of moniker Larry Fisherman.

Since the sudden announcement of leaving Rostrum Records, Mac Miller has been spending time in Australia and hanging out with the likes of Diplo, Lorde, Toro Y Moi and GroupLove to name a few, but his love of releasing music simply out of nowhere provides us with a new offering today. The Pittsburgh artist takes on a cover of “Lua,” which was originally recorded for Bright Eyes’ 2005 LP I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning.

As part of Noisey’s increasingly popular The People vs. series, Pittburgh’s own Mac Miller took the opportunity to look at YouTube comments on his video for “I Am Who I Am (Killin’ Time)” with Niki Randa, taken from the Watching Movies With The Sound Off album. Mac covered topics of religion, complaints of changing over the years, comparisons to Drake and Adam Sandler, categorizations with other white hip-hop artists and much more.

The historic run between Mac Miller and Rostrum Records has come to an end. The Pittsburgh MC has decided to move on from the independent label going forward after his original contract expired, leaving after a four year run.

Mac Miller was first signed right before the release of his critically acclaimed mixtape K.I.D.S. and continued to soar up the Hip-Hop charts and gain a cult audience in the years following, with the release of Blue Slide Park and Watching Movies With The Sound Off. Even though the two have parted ways, he still considers the label a family.

Details about where Mac will be headed next have not been revealed at this time, but we’ll keep you updated on any further information as it surfaces. Read Mac’s entire statement to MTV News below.

Continuing his sit down with MTV’s Rob Markman, Mac Miller reveals that he has four current albums that are in the process of completion, all of which contain some sort of foundation with seven songs each. Although he doesn’t know exactly how he will finish and release them, fans should be happy with the fact that the Pittsburgh MC has some more new music on the way so early into the new year.

Mac also talks about how one of the albums came about by accident, and might actually be released as the follow up to his 2013 sophomore effort, Watching Movies With the Sound Off.

How Mac Miller’s “Live From Space” Album Came To Fruition

macmillermtv

Go inside the mind of Mac Miller and the thought process that brought his Live In Space album to life in his latest interview with MTV. During the sit-down, Mac mentions how Blue Slide Park might not have a been a good live album like Watching Movies With The Sound Off was, giving him more reason to make it happen.

The fact that his sophomore record is more musical and the live aspect would bring the songs more to life, was a main factor in why he did this album. It was around the time that the “Objects In The Mirror” video dropped, that they saw the potential in doing it, in terms of how the songs will be understood and taken to a whole new level.

You can stream and cop the digital only release, Live In Space, out online today.
