For the duration of JAY Z’s life on earth, he will forever share his birthday on the day Pimp C passed away. The two developed a bond following the success of their huge hit, “Big Pimpin.” With Timbaland still on the boards years later, Jay releases a rare remix with even rarer unreleased Pimp C verses for their December 4th day.
Instead of mourning the anniversary of falling comrade’s death, HOV pays homage and celebrates his falling comrade. While we sadly have the same Jigga verses, a lost and never before heard Pimp C verse is something we will never be mad at in life.
One question that’s always puzzled the many JAY Z fans in the past is where he ranks his rank his albums all-time against each other. While the Mafioso-themed and Kool G Rap heavily influenced debut album Reasonable Doubt will always be his most musically prized possession, the “others” have been revealed in order where he ranks them amongst each other. HOV’s got the day off to celebrate his Forty-Forty and decided to offer fans a rare insight look into some brief reviews of his collection of work over the last three decades. After the jump, you can see for yourself where he ranks his albums with each other.
Today, JAY Z is celebrating his 44th birthday being December 4th. While we still enjoy and respect his artistic craft in the present, we’re fans of the “Old Jay-Z” before he became an international mogul. During the pre Reasonable Doubt era and the early Roc-A-Fella Records days, Jay-Z was entering the game showcasing a lavish lifestyle being an unknown artist in the game at the time. While his best friend Frank White was K.O.N.Y., Jay’s initial plan was to make music just to impress his friends; which is what was showcased in his first solo music videos “In My Lifetime” and “In My Lifetime Remix.”
From driving speed boats, cabin cruisers and racing jet skis in the open waters of Saint Thomas in the Virgin Islands, the Roc-A-Fella camp were doing things most well-known PLATINUM artist couldn’t do in their career. For a debut studio single being a fresh artist at the time, Jay was one of the first rappers to use music visuals to gravitate fans to him that didn’t know his past clever lyrics and fast wordplay on previous features.

Last night’s Oklahoma City Thunder game was pretty wild. Not only did the Thunder handily defeat the Los Angeles Clippers behind a solid effort from Kevin Duarant, but one of their fans hit a half court shot to win $20,000. As surprising as it is this is actually the 2nd time this year that a Thunder fan has hit this amazing shot and collected that bread.
What could top off this crazy night for this lucky fan? How about getting dapped up by JAY Z after drilling the shot. Hov was in town sitting courtside with Beyonce to watch his Roc Nation Sports superstar KD destroy and it appeared like he had a great time. We have the video of it all going down after the jump.

With November 14th marking the 10th anniversary of The Black Album, many fans and musicians took the opportunity to share their love for JAY Z and the project a decade on from its release. Revolt TV chose to speak to the likes of Young Chris, Pharrell, Irv Gotti, Gabby Peluso, Just Blaze and Aqua about Hov’s eighth album, with each figure being an essential part of piecing the LP together as one. Each of the collaborators spoke on their love of watching Mr. Carter create, the state of emotion within each song on the album, how the project contained nothing but hits, Jay rapping off the top without writing down his words, having a specific list of producers, the type of mindset in the studio and much more.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen a few a viral videos surface of Timbaland previewing future material allegedly with Drake and JAY Z to serve as a future new single.
While it’s not exactly a #TimbalandThursdays release, we’ll take any new material that surfaces from the Virginian beat master, especially if it includes Drake and Hov. It’ll be 4 years since we last seen a Timbo full-length album, as we’ve already heard the possibility of a follow-up to his Shock Value II for next year.
His next album, tentative titled Textbook Timbo will be his fourth solo project, which is at the top of our most anticipated album’s list in the near future. Timb’s new track dubbed “Know Bout Me” surfaced online today and at everyone’s amazement. With an all-star cast of Jay-Z, Drake and James Fauntleroy, this one should be the talk of the Internet this weekend.
Can you believe The Black Album turned 10 years old today? Being one of the loyal fans who bought the album when it came out in November of 2003, it’s crazy to think this was supposed to be Jay-Z‘s last. Of course, 10 years later, he has four more albums under his belt and retirement doesn’t look like it’s ever going to happen.
“Dirt Off Your Shoulder” might not be the biggest single from the album, but the way the song cut to “PSA” in the video is what always stands out about it. Not to mention the fact that Beyoncé made a cameo, back when there were only rumors of the two dating.
Plus, what’s better than Jay-Z and Timbo on the boards? Smoke one and reminisce with one of Hov’s best albums from the catalog if you get a chance today.

Now that it’s been 10 years since The Black Album was released, Just Blaze took the time to sit down with Revolt TV to speak on one of the tracks on the project, the infamous “Interlude.” Saying he didn’t want it to be loud and boisterous, Just reveals it is him who did the dialogue and changed up his voice for it.

Good news for those missed JAY Z‘s Made In America documentary on Showtime earlier this year. It’s coming to your nearest theater in Summer of 2014.
The Ron Howard film, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, is a behind-the-scenes look at Hov’s massive two-day festival in Philadelphia and follows multiple artists who rocked the stage, as well as fans and those close to the action. The North American rights to the film have now been acquired Phase 4 Films, making it possible for those who missed it to watch it on the big screen in its full glory.
Robinson Cano & JAY Z Now Under Investigation After $33,900 Shawn Carter Classic Limited Edition Fusion Watch.
Monday, MLB’s most prominent free agent Robinson Cano celebrated his 31st birthday in Belgium with agent JAY Z. JAY played in Antwerp for his Magna Carta Tour that same evening, as Cano and his entourage would celebrate at the Magic nightclub. Cano revealed on his instagram account receiving limited-edition Shawn Carter Classic Fusion watch by Hubolt following his birthday celebration.
The $33,900 watch may have violated the league’s union agent regulations, as the MLB players association has launched a full investigation on JAY Z and the NY Yankees 2nd baseman. Cano’s currently seeking a 10-year / $310M deal from the pinstripes, but that will obviously be on hold now due to an investigation.
