What a 29th birthday for J. Cole huh? He ends the day by announcing that his label Dreamville is on Interscope Records now and as the icing on the cake, he gets Jay-Z‘s original Roc-A-Fella chain on stage at Madison Square Garden. Talk about the man of the hour. Then Hov casually comes out while “Public Service Announcement” blares through the speakers and the whole crowd proceeds to EXPLODE.

To end the clip, Shawn Corey drops the beat for “Fuckwitmeuknowigotit” and the fans take it to church by clapping along and everyone loses their mind.

Justin Timberlake‘s sudden resurgence has been of the biggest talking points and quite frankly one of the most exciting musical happenings in 2013. Ending the year with two platinum albums certainly isn’t enough for Justin, as he calls upon Pusha T, A$AP Rocky and J. Cole for the official remix of “TKO,” with the original forming as a single for The 20/20 Experience (2 of 2) earlier this year. Thanks to stellar verses from the surprise mixture of special guests, Black Friday just got a whole lot more interesting with the Timbaland-produced gem.

Over the weekend at iHeartRadio festival, J. Cole talked to MTV News about the creation process for his most recent music visuals released last week, Crooked Smile”. Cole opened up about shooting a rough draft music video for the single during his promo run over the summer, but wasn’t content with label-forced product.

After seeing Fruitvale Station over the summer which was based on the death of Oscar Grant, he wanted to use his platform to share stories similar to the film. Cole connected with a tragedy 3 years ago, after 7-year-old Aiyana Stanley-Jones was struck by a Police officer multiple times being an innocent bystander. You can check after the jump for more of J. Cole’s interview on his vision behind the visuals for Crooked Smile.

During iHeartRadio weekend in Las Vegas a few days ago, J. Cole and Chris Brown were guest on The Breakfast Club’s road edition. J. Cole opened up about performing with TLC for the first time on his latest single Crooked Smile and also Power Trip with Miguel.

Cole opened up on being nervous for the show citing he wasn’t sure if the pop crowd would know the bulk of his material, but that was never the case. Before his segment closed, Charlamagne Tha God brought up album sales, which he outsold Kanye; but Cole remained humble saying Ye’s doing arena’s, while he’s doing theaters.

In Breezy’s interview, he talked about his upcoming album “X”, which is now tentatively scheduled for a November release. He then spoke on working Jennifer Lopez, saying her album is coming along well so far helping out with 2 tracks for the project.

You can check after the jump to watch both brief interviews.

That One Time Questlove Found J. Cole’s iPhone

qloveClick image to watch Questlove speak about the time he found J. Cole’s lost iPhone

Now what are the odds of this? During an interview with OkayPlayer the legend ?uestlove decided to tell the story about the time that he found J. Cole’s missing iPhone. Basically the story goes that after a show outside of NYC ?uestlove and his crew were leaving the venue and realized they were missing a few items, and one just happened to be his managers iPhone.

So out of mere coincidence they find an iPhone in the back of the van and after investigating further Quest realized something strange was up. One thing we would like to point out is how does a major artist like Cole not have a lock on his phone? Like really? It’s 2013 b. The rest of the story basically goes that Quest eventually tweeted out the phone to get it back to the young kid Jermaine. Very anti-climatic we know.
