Without a single doubt, the Songs From Scratch has been one of the most enjoyable programs of recent times. The latest track to surface from the studio sessions is a collaboration between singer Tink and ever-present producer DJ Dahi, who manage to create a sultry jam titled “Men.” This comes exactly a month after hearing Kelela and Tink over an instrumental from Dahi, and it’s fair to say they know how to put together an audacious R&B recording.

After taking a 4-year hiatus to focus on family matters, London songstress-actress Lily Allen finally returns to release her long-awaited third studio album, Sheezus. The project, which has been in preparations since last year, serves as Lily’s first body of work since the 2009 release of It’s Not Me, It’s You. While hoping to recapture fans from the past, she definitely has an eye-raising album title, mirroring Kanye West’s 2013 effort Yeezus. Highlighted by numerous singles, the album has zero features; with production seen from DJ Dahi, Shellback, Beard and frequent collaborator Greg Kurstin. Sheezus arrives in stores and iTunes next Tuesday on May 6th, but for now you can hit jump for details how to stream the project in full.

If you didn’t know who DJ Dahi was before, you will come next week. The young producer laced the beat for Drake‘s Nothing Was The Same gem “Worst Behaviour” and had a few credits on Kendrick Lamar’s good kid m.A.A.d city album. During his recent interview with MTV, Dahi spoke on how the record with Drizzy came about and that feeling he had when he first found out it made it onto the album.
But, is this beat better than the one Dahi gave to Kendrick for “Money Trees?” The jury is still out on that one. Nothing Was The Same hits stores on September 24.

We’ve been up on Warm Brew for a minute, but we’re excited about their new album The Ride. This is probably the best we’ve heard from the Santa Monica/Venice crew up until now, giving us that Summer time music to cool out to. They’ve definitely shown glimpses of it through previous projects, but for this effort, they really honed in on their sound. Especially when they have beats by DJ Dahi, Teqnitionz, Lord Quest and Al B Smoov.
Next week, they will be dropping the video to “Wanna Get High,” one of our personal favorites from the album. Listen to the full Warm Brew project below and download it if you’re fucking with it. And trust us, you’ll probably be fucking with it.
After a rampage of videos, a few freestyles and several months of waiting, the moment has come. One of the up and comers we’ve had our eye on for a minute, Spenzo, releases his In Spenzo We Trust mixtape and brings the world to his Chicago neighborhood. With no features on the project, Spenz carries the tape solo dolo, so people can get to know him and his story, all the way live from Englewood.
The 12-track project has some big names on the production side, including tracks with Young Chop, Sonny Digital, DJ Dahi and Nascent. Download it after the jump.
