Warriors Shoot The Lights Out and Hand Pelicans Loss in Playoff Opener

Not even Anthony Davis‘ 35 points helped the New Orleans Pelicans get close to what the Golden State Warriors were doing at home thanks to the ridiculous shooting of the Splash Brothers. The Warriors gave the hometown crowd more than what they paid for in the playoff opener, leading by as many as 25 in the 3rd quarter.

Steph Curry was scoring from all over the floor, whether in transition, a pull up, pump fakes, step-back threes and locked down 34 points in an MVP type performance. Klay Thompson also added 21 points, while the combo of Draymond Green and Andrew Bogut kept The Brow in check for most of the game, until he exploded with 20 points in the 4th quarter.

The Pelicans don’t have much playoff experience and seemed a bit nervous to start the half, but you also have to give credit to the Warriors defense in the win.

Game 2 is Monday night in Oakland, where Golden State hopes to keep the 19-game winning streak alive.
