Roger Goodell lost & NFL can appeal the decision!

Following a summer-long back and forth battle between Tom Brady and Roger Goodell regarding the DeflateGate scandal, U.S. District Court Judge Richard Berman has now nullified the four-game suspension. This means for the foreseeable future, Brady will be able to play week one in exactly 7-days against the Pittsburgh Steelers – which happens to be the championship celebration and season premiere of the 2015 season.

The NFL is expected to appeal the decision, but Judge Berman felt Brady was mistreated in using the same evidence Goodell and Ted Wells denied him after their report last spring. Brady originally was open to accepting a 1-game suspension, but felt one-fourth of the season was too much for his alleged innocence. At the moment, the Patriots are still fined $1 million and have forfeited their 2016 pick, which cannot be appealed by New England.

In the decision making process from the District Court, they found Brady didn’t know he could receive a four-game suspension for ball deflation of others or see equal discipline in comparison to players who use PEDs. Brady and company will now be able to properly celebrate their Super Bowl victory on opening night in exactly a week.

Tom Brady has beaten the NFL in the Deflategate court case, with U.S. District Court Judge Richard Berman nullifying the league’s four-game suspension Thursday.
