Rest in peace to the Cowboy’s year

It was only two weeks ago when Tony Romo was making his grand return to the Dallas Cowboys after missing a bulk of the season with a broken collarbone. In his second game back and on Thanksgiving Day against the undefeated Carolina Panthers, the bad news bit Jerry Jones and the ‘boys. News coming out of Dallas is that Romo will be out for the season with the same injury he missed seven games for earlier this season.

Tony went out in the last play of the third quarter after landing hard on his shoulder on a sack by linebacker Thomas Davis and was immediately taken to the locker room. Preliminary x-rays came back inconclusive, but Romo was quoted as saying that the injury “felt similar” to his previous broken collarbone back in September against the Philadelphia Eagles.

This is the third time in his career that Romo suffers the same injury, so the organization has to think long and hard at the road they want to take upon his return next year.

So far, the Cowboys are winless without Tony in the lineup.

The Panthers cruised to a 33-14 victory at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX thanks to the efforts of the defense and Cam Newton, who threw for 183 yards passing and one rushing touchdown.

UPDATE: Cowboys doctors have officially determined Romo suffered a hairline fracture and will miss the rest of the regular season.
