Todd Gurley Goes Off As St. Louis Rams Upset Arizona Cardinals

In terms of the St. Louis Rams‘ season, Todd Gurley hasn’t even been a blip on the offensive radar thus far. That’s mostly due to the fact he has been nursing his torn ACL that he suffered at Georgia last November and missed the first two games of the year. He was finally activated last week in the Rams’ game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but didn’t see much action thanks to the committee backfield of Tre Mason and Benny Cunningham also getting their reps.

Today was Gurley’s coming out party.

The rookie running back finished today’s game on the road with 146 yards on 19 carries and two catches for 15 yards in the Rams upset of the Arizona Cardinals. Even though there were some bumps in the road getting out his rustiness, Gurley managed to pull out some big highlight plays and looks to be the main back moving forward for Jeff Fisher.

Today’s win marks the second huge division win for the Rams in the NFC West, beating the Seattle Seahawks in their opener and the red hot Cardinals in a last second thriller today.

FINAL: STL 24 | ARI 22
