The Los Angeles Lakers Are Legitimately Contemplating Kobe Bryant at Power Forward

Yes, this is really happening!

In comparison to previous seasons, the Los Angeles Lakers finally have a selection of point guards: Jordan Clarkson, D’Angelo Russell and Lou Williams. The three-headed collective are obviously looking to see extended minutes on the court – with Williams fresh from his sixth man of the year award, Clarkson returning from his breakout rookie year and D’Angelo set to become an imminent star in the league.

Lakers trainer, Gary Vitti discussed the possibility of Los Angeles going small and moving him to the four (see: Golden State Warriors) and the Black Mamba shockingly said he would embrace this move. Whether or not this is the right move for the imminent disaster of Staples Center we’ll witness next year, Byron Scott is intrigued about the idea of bringing a new office to the franchise.

“The one thing that we wanted to do and accomplish through this draft and through free agency was to try and be a little more versatile, have some versatility. So I think (Clarkson, Russell, Williams) can definitely do that. Kobe can play one, two and three. There’s no doubt in my mind. And there’s some games. against some teams, where he’ll probably play four. With his tenaciousness, the way he guards people and when his mind is set, if I say ‘Kobe, you’ve got him,’ he takes that as a challenge. You know how he is. He’ll compete.”
