Are the Lakers playoff bound with this latest move?

Just last year, the Indiana Pacers were one game away from reaching the NBA Finals. Since their loss to the Miami Heat, Indy has seen Lance Stephenson, Evan Turner, David West and now with Roy Hibbert. The Los Angeles Lakers have missed out on LaMarcus Aldridge, DeAndre Jordan and Mark Gasol in free agency but have landed their first big name this summer. Hibbert has been traded to Los Angeles in an apparent salary dumb from Indiana – which the Lakers were in desperate need of landing a center to make a push for the 8th seed. Terms of the deal haven’t been revealed, but Los Angeles is expected to give up future draft picks for the former Georgetown star.

Next season, Hibbert’s set to make $15.5 million and will be motivated to produce in hopes of landing more long-term security. Throughout this career, Hibbert has averaged 11 points, 2 blocks and 6 rebounds a game – which he’ll now be joining the collective of Kobe Bryant, D’Angelo Russell, Nick Young and Julius Randle.
