Stephen A. Smith Blacks Out on Kevin Durant for “First Take”

“You Do Not Want to Make an Enemy Out of Me”

The battle of words between Kevin Durant and Stephen A. Smith is back, and it’s about to get ugly. On Friday, reports from Smith stated that Durantula was thinking about heading to Los Angeles to play for the Lakers if he decided to leave Oklahoma City and the Thunder after becoming a free agent. At no time did Stephen A. say that he was guaranteed to go there, but he mentioned it was a thought he was considered, according to people he talked to.

Kevin fired back and said Smith was straight up ‘lying,’ which prompted his response on ESPN’s First Take today. Stephen started his rant calmly and even reiterated how much he respects Durant as a person, saying he’s one of the Top 2 basketball players in the world.

But he quickly put his foot down and boasted about his credentials, warning Durant not to question his credibility and saying that his resume speaks for itself. He said he doesn’t need to speak to members of his inner circle to find out information, because he’s in the NBA arenas, he’s out on the road and knows plenty of people and obtain reports without picking up the phone.

Skip Bayless then defended Stephen A. and talked about his own rifts with Durant, calling him immature and wrong throughout all of this, saying his beef with the media is uncalled for. He said there’s no need to attack the media, who have had his back for so long.

It would be stupid of KD to respond with anything less than an apology at this point, because Stephen emphasized how much Kevin will never get the last word in, ever.
