After agreeing to take the salary of Roy Hibbert yesterday, the Los Angeles Lakers continue their free agency signings, this time landing Lou Williams. Last year, the 28-year-old point guard became the first Toronto Raptor to ever in the Sixth Man of the Year Award, which the team was unfortunately swept out of the first round by the Washington Wizards. Last year, Williams averaged a career best 15.5 points and played in 80 games throughout the season – just two years removed from having career threatening ACL surgery.

Williams now joins the point guard trio of Jordan Clarkson and D’Angelo Russell, which we can expect him to get the bulk of the fourth quarter minutes alongside Kobe Bryant in the backcourt. For a team that hasn’t been a destination in recent years, they’ve made some quality moves over the last 48 hours to give Jim Buss hope in keeping his job as President of Basketball Operations under Jeanie Buss.
